Working Toward a More Sustainable Future at CALSTART

Over the course of my internship at CALSTART as a Trucks Marketing I've learned quite a lot. Before starting this position, I honestly knew very little about the transportation industry or zero-emission trucking. This field was completely new to me, and I did not expect it to become such a meaningful part of my professional growth. Over the past few months, I have learned about clean transportation, fleet education, sustainable mobility, and the role of organizations like CALSTART play in building a more environmentally responsible future.
As obtaining my position as a Marketing Intern, I had been granted the opportunity to gain real world experience within working on projects such as social media content, marketing packages, email campaigns, event promotion, website materials, and outreach connected to zero emission transportation that I haven't quite had before. I was introduced to various new platforms which I quickly gained experience in and aided me in realizing Marketing truly is my forte as I enjoy every project and initiative I became apart of as well as enjoyed every moment working as team with my wonderful colleagues. Through these projects, I have seen how communication and marketing can support environmental progress by helping people better understand clean transportation solutions.
This experience has been genuinely eye opening and life changing. It has shown me that sustainability is not just about technology or policy, but also about storytelling, education, and awareness. Being part of an organization dedicated to zero-emission trucking has made me feel like the work I do contributes to something larger than myself and supports a future that is cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable.
